Even if...

you are mad that Barack Obama was elected president of the United States, I hope you can be thrilled that his campaign and presidency have caused some sort of shift in the idea of racism in this country. Please don't pretend like racism doesn't exist - if you believe that - move to Chicago. Moving on...

Does this solve racism? NO. Does this cause some sort of shift that is not exactly explainable, but very real? YES.

And for that, no matter what your political persuasion, you should be proud. Because this country looked past someone's skin color and voted for who they are. This is a big deal. The church has often just turned a blind eye to racism, maintaining its homogenous status. This is sad. May today be a day that you and I remember that God created all people equally and God said that each and every one of us is somehow 'good'.
