Well, my 'ministry profile' is due this Friday for evaluation. This is the profile that the superintendents look at and then the pastoral search committees of church will look over. Everyone answers the same questions and somehow my name is supposed to come forth from the masses speaking to some church out there, somewhere. It is an extremely odd process. It definitely is not that I think there is any better way, I just recognize that this process is a little cumbersome.
The other hard thing for me is to just focus on the next few years, not the whole future of my life. I have a difficult time only looking forward about five years instead of the rest of my life. People keep talking about ordination, whole life credentialing. It feels overwhelming. There is just a lot to think about. I am excited for the Christmas break so I can actually take some time to sit with some of this.
I also officially talked to the World Mission department yesterday. Here we go...the real world is coming...

Why do we worry? I ask that of myself often... so easy to say and so hard to do. You know this verse, but sometimes we need God's Word placed in front of our face. Speaking in love, my friend! Cheri
Mt. 6:25-34 "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?
"And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
Praying for you Alaina and trusting God to lead you day by day and moment by moment!
